Appliances (large/white goods): Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $15 per unit, including items such as refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, and dehumidifiers.

Auto Batteries: Drop off at the Transfer Station, for a fee of $6 each, including those from cars, motorcycles, boats, trucks, lawn mowers, etc.

Books and Media: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge, into the Bay State Books donation bin or at any other book container location throughout town, including books and commercially recorded media such as CDs, DVDs, records and books on CD.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.

Bulky Waste: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum (for those items that do not fit in a 34-gallon bag).

Cardboard: All flattened cardboard must fit inside of the recycling cart and not impede the emptying of the cart. Or drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.

Carpeting/Rugs: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum (for those items that do not fit in a 34-gallon bag).

Christmas Trees: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge, from December 26 through the last Saturday in January.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge,in the designated donation bins or schedule a curbside pick-up online with Curbside Textile Recycling.

Construction & Demolition Debris: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum.

E-waste: Free at yearly town events, usually in conjunction with the yearly Eco-Depot hazardous waste day. Call DPW for updates.

Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.

Furniture: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Drop off at the Transfer Station. There is no charge for leaves and grass clippings to residents. There is a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum for residential brush.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off recyclable mattresses at the Transfer Station, free of charge, maximum of 2 sets. There is a fee of $70 per unit for non-recyclable mattresses (wet, mangled, excessively dirty, infested with bed bugs).

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Transfer Station, for a fee of $1 per gallon for quantities of 10 gallons or less, and $2 per gallon for quantities over 10 gallons.

Propane Tanks: Drop off at the Transfer Station, for a fee of $5. The valve must be removed prior to drop off.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $300 per ton or $0.15 per pound, with a $15.00 minimum.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal for a fee. 

Tires: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $8 each, without rims, maximum of 4. Other tire fees: tractor trailer $25/each, small farm tractor $35/each, large farm tractor $80/each, loader tires $420/each.
