Transfer Station: In the rear of 1670 Flat River Road (via the access road to the dog pound), Coventry. Transfer Station Hours: Mon.-Fri. 7:30am-12:00pm and 12:30pm-3:00pm. The Transfer Station is also open on Saturdays following an observed holiday from 7:30am-12:00pm (Observed holidays are Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Victory Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day).
Dump passes may be obtained at the DPW Office for $40.00, cash only (see below for DPW Office hours). The dump pass entitles residents to 4 trips that will not expire until used. Another pass may not be purchased for a year from the original date of purchase. The dump pass can be used to dispose of construction debris as well as any household items. If you missed your trash or recycle driver this week, please remember that regular weekly trash and recycling can be disposed of free of charge at the Transfer Station with proof of residency.

Appliances (large/white goods): Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Or drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Appliances (w/ Freon): $25 to have picked up curbside, or to drop off at the Transfer Station. You must pay by cash only at the DPW Office for either option. Includes dehumidifiers.
Auto Batteries: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Books & Media: Drop off into the Bay State Book bin at the Transfer Station or the Town Hall parking lot, including books and commercially recorded media such as CDs, DVDs, records and books on CD.
Bulky Rigid Plastic: Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Or drop off at the Transfer Station as part of the $40 Dump Pass.
Bulky Waste: Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Or drop off at the Transfer Station as part of the $40 Dump Pass. No cement, bricks, rocks, stone or roofing material. Limited fencing accepted.
Cardboard: All flattened cardboard must fit inside of the recycling cart, with the lid closed. Or drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Carpeting/Rugs: Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Must be rolled and tied, and not longer than 4 feet in length. Or drop off at the Transfer Station as part of the $40 Dump Pass.
Christmas Trees: Place live trees curbside on your regular collection day during the month of January, or drop off at the Transfer Station. Trees must be free of tinsel, ornaments and lights.
Clothing/Textiles: Picked up curbside through Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI. Or drop off in the clothing bins located inside of the Transfer Station or any clothing collection bins located throughout the Town of Coventry.
Construction & Demolition Debris: Drop off at the Transfer Station as part of the $40 Dump Pass. The following items are not accepted: sheds, decks, sheet rock, asphalt, cement, bricks, rocks, stone or roofing material. Limited fencing accepted.
E-waste: Drop off at the Transfer Station. Items accepted include televisions, computer monitors, computers, laptops and tablets.
Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Furniture: Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Or drop off at the Transfer Station as part of the $40 Dump Pass.
Leaf & Yard Waste: Place curbside on your regular collection day, typically picked up from April through December (weather permitting). Please call DPW for the exact start and end dates. Or drop off at the Transfer Station.
Mattresses & Box Springs: $15 per piece to have picked up curbside, or drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge. Residents must purchase the collection sticker at the DPW office for $15, cash only, and will be given a disposal bag that is required when placing a mattress curbside. Non-recyclable mattresses and box springs such as those that are severely damaged, twisted, wet, frozen, soiled, or infested with bed bugs are accepted as trash for $80 each.
Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Paper for Shredding: Free paper shredding at periodic town events, typically held in April, call DPW for updates.
Scrap Metal: Picked up curbside for a fee of $25. Residents must schedule an appointment in person at the DPW Office, cash only. Or drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.
Shredded Paper: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge. Shredded paper must be in a clear plastic bag and securely tied in order to be accepted.
Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal.
Tires: Drop off at the at the Transfer Station for a fee. Fees starts at $10 and vary in price depending on size.
