Questions on the Bristol-specific information? 

Transfer Station: Minturn Farm Road, Bristol. Hours: M-F 7:30am-3pm, Sat. 8am-Noon. The Transfer Station is open to Bristol residents only. Residents must obtain a day pass or permit before entering. Two "Day Passes" are available per year at no charge. Transfer Station permits are available for $25 at the DPW or on the Transfer Station website. Disposal rates are the same, whether you have a day pass or yearly permit.

Appliances (large/white goods): $35 for pickup curbside (purchase sticker at DPW) or drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

Appliances (w/ Freon): $40 for pickup curbside (purchase sticker at DPW) or drop off at the Transfer Station for a flat fee of $25. 

Bulky Waste: $35 for pickup curbside (purchase sticker at DPW) or drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

Cardboard: All flattened cardboard must fit inside of the recycling cart, with the lid closed. Cardboard that does not fit can be dropped off at the Transfer Station.

Carpeting/Rugs: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

Christmas Trees: Curbside pickup until the end of January. After January, drop off at Transfer Station, free of charge.

Construction & Demolition Debris: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

E-waste: Drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton. Or the town typically hosts several e-waste recycling events per year, call DPW for details. Includes TVs, monitors, computers, electronics such as DVD players, printers, and electric items (typically anything with a plug).

Extra Recycling: Drop off, free of charge, at the Transfer Station.

Furniture: $35 for pickup curbside (purchase sticker at DPW) or drop off at the Transfer Station for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Curbside pickup during the spring, summer and fall. Call the Sewer Department for the weekly/winter schedule at 401-253-8877. OR drop off at Transfer Station, free of charge.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at the Transfer Station, free of charge.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Transfer Station, for $5 for every 5 gallons.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Transfer Station, for a fee of $10 for 200 pounds, or $100 per ton.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, can be dropped off with e-waste (see above instructions).

Tires: Tires without rims can be dropped off at the Transfer Station, for a fee of $5 per car tire and $10 per truck tire.
