Antifreeze: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Appliance (large/white goods): Picked up curbside on a monthly basis on your regular collection day by making an appointment with DPW. Or drop off at the Recycling Center.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Picked up curbside on a monthly basis on your regular collection day by making an appointment with DPW.

Auto Batteries: Drop off at the DPW.

Batteries: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Books: Drop off at the Recycling Center into the Bay State Book Company bin.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Bulky Waste: Collected curbside with your regular trash pickup.

Carpeting/Rugs: Collected curbside with your regular trash pickup, must be rolled and tied into 4 ft. lengths.

Christmas Trees: Place curbside on your regular collection day during the first 3 weeks of January.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at the Recycling Center. Also, TAPIN accepts children’s clothing ONLY, in Barrington’s Government Center at 281 County Road from M-F, 9-12. Visit their website for details.

Cooking Oil: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

E-waste: Drop off at the Recycling Center. Items accepted include televisions, computer monitors, computers, laptops, tablets, computer peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printers, etc), stereo equipment, DVD players, telephones, etc.

Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Fluorescent Bulbs: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Furniture: Collected curbside with your regular trash pickup.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Place curbside on your regular collection day, from April into December. Includes grass, leaves and small clippings, which must be put in paper bags or barrels and placed at curbside. OR drop off at the Recycling Center.
BRUSH: Picked up 6-8 weeks in the spring and fall, must call DPW to make an appointment. Dates are listed on Town Calendar. Brush should be loosely stacked with the cut ends toward the road. Piles will be limited to 3’ high x 4’ wide and 6’ long. Branches in excess of 4 inches in diameter as well as logs, stumps and root balls will not be collected. Each stop will be limited to 10 minutes. Homeowners are reminded that commercial landscapers are responsible for the removal of brush they generate.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at the DPW for recycling, please stop in the office first. Effective 7/11/18, mattresses and box springs will no longer be picked up curbside with the trash.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Paper for Shredding: Free paper shredding at periodic town events, call DPW for updates.

Plastic Bags & Film: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Recycling Center.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal.

Tires: Drop off at the DPW. Tires must have rims removed.
