Temporary Residential Recycle Center: 260 Progress Road, Tiverton. 
Hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM; closed for lunch from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm.

Landfill: 3524 Main Road, Tiverton. Although the Landfill is closed as of 11/30/22, residents can drop off Books/Media and Clothing/Textiles at the entrance.

Department of Public Works (DPW): 50 Industrial Way, Tiverton. Hours: Mon.-Fri. 7am to 3:30pm, closed between 12:30-1pm for lunch.

Appliances (large/white goods): Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge. Includes stoves, washing machines, dishwashers and dryers.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center for a Freon removal fee of $12. Includes refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. No fuel tanks, propane tanks, automotive parts, campers, boats, or other large items are accepted. 

Books and Media: Drop off at the Landfill entrance into the Discover Books bin, including books and commercially recorded media such as CDs, DVDs, records and books on CD, free of charge. When the Landfill gates are locked, you may walk through to put books/media into the bin, which can be seen from the entrance gate.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge.

Carpeting/Rugs: Picked up curbside in your trash barrel if it fits in a PAYT bag.

Christmas Trees: Picked up curbside during the first 2 full weeks of January on your regular collection day. Pick up may be delayed during bad weather such as snowstorms and hurricanes.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at the Landfill entrance into the donation boxes, free of charge. When the Landfill gates are locked, you may walk through to put clothing into the donation box, which can be seen from the entrance gate.

E-waste: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge. Includes computers, laptops, monitors, televisions (no broken screen televisions), routers, cell phones, mice, keyboards, printers, toner cartridges, CD / DVD players, radios, cameras, stereos, speakers, telephones, microwaves and small household appliances. No light bulbs, single use batteries, plastic tapes/disks, glass plates or bowls, broken tv tubes, smoke detectors, or hazardous materials.

Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Curbside yard waste pick up is scheduled to begin when the permanent recycle center is operational in 2023, as the temporary residential recycle center is not equipped to accept yard waste. All leaf and yard waste must be in brown biodegradable yard waste bags. Limit of 6 bags per pickup. When the permanent recycle center opens in 2023, it is expected that residents will be able to drop off six (6) or less paper bags of yard waste per week at no charge; $10.00 per 1-ton pick up truck or less, $25.00 per 1-ton pick up truck or more. Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge for those in clean, recyclable condition. Units that are soild, wet, damaged, infested with bed bugs, etc., are not accepted.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at DPW, free of charge, during the normal business hours. 

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center, free of charge. No fuel tanks, automotive parts, campers, boats, or other large items.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, can be dropped off with e-waste.

Tires: Drop off at the Temporary Residential Recycle Center for a fee of $5 each.
