Mattress Drop off Center – PROVIDENCE RESIDENTS ONLY (identification/proof of residency is required):  Saturday 7am-1pm, weather permitting. 700 Allens Ave, Providence. Limit of 2 items only, per day, per home.

Appliances (large/white goods): Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request a pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request a pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Bulky Waste: Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request a pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Carpeting/Rugs: Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request a pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Christmas Trees: Picked up curbside during the second and third full weeks of January.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at Goodwill boxes. A portion of the proceeds will help support programs in Providence parks. Locations: Davis Park (Chalkstone Ave., near Chalkstone Avenue End).; The B. Jae Clanton Educational Complex (674 Prairie Ave., at entrance on Prairie Avenue); Nathan Bishop Middle School (101 Sessions St., rear of school); Neutaconkanut Park (Plainfield St. parking lot, at front of park); West End Community Center (109 Bucklin St, at entrance drive); Classical High School (770 Westminster St, near tennis courts); Hope High School (324 Hope St., Olney Avenue side); Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School (195 Nelson St, near dumpsters); Mt. Pleasant High School (434 Mt. Pleasant Ave., front of school); Delsesto Middle School (152 Springfield Street western end of the parking lot which is nearest to Hartford Avenue).

E-waste: Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request an e-waste pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Furniture: Free curbside pickup. Call Waste Management at least 24 hours before your regularly scheduled trash collection day to request a pick-up at 1-800-972-4545. Describe the item(s) you are calling to have picked up, limit 3 bulk items per collection day. Place the items at the curb no earlier than 4:00pm on the day before your regular trash collection day.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Picked up curbside on your regular collection day from mid-April through mid-December. Yard debris should be left curbside on recycling and trash collection days; Clippings, leaves and sticks should be placed in open barrels or paper yard waste bags. Sticks and trimmings must be cut to 4 feet or smaller and tied together. Yard debris may not be placed inside plastic bags.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Free of charge to drop off. Providence residents can drop off two items or one set (mattresses and box spring, or 3 pieces for king/queen splits) per resident per drop-off at the DPW Mattress Convenience Drop off Center. Proof of Providence residency required. Or for a fee of $22, curbside service is available by calling Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545, from Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM to schedule the pickup. Payment can be made by check or credit card.
