Appliances (large/white goods): Picked up curbside on the 2nd Friday of the month, by calling MTG Disposal at 1-866-420-6342 by 11:00 AM on the Thursday before the first Friday, leaving your address and the item being discarded. Or, call DPW for pickup. Per state law, please remove all doors from refrigerators.  Place white goods/appliances out for collection no earlier than 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up day.

Auto Batteries: Drop off at the Recycling Office, free of charge.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Picked up curbside, call the Recycling Office for an appointment.

Bulky Waste: Free pickup curbside, limit of one item per week. No appointment needed.

Carpeting/Rugs: Free pickup curbside. Must be cut 3-4 ft lengths, limit of 5 rolls per week.

Christmas Trees: Picked up curbside in January, dates announced annually.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at Kiducation bins at Stop & Shop on Mineral Spring Ave.

Cooking Oil: Drop off at the Recycling Office, free of charge.

E-waste: Drop off at the Recycling Office. Includes electronics such as televisions, monitors, computers, computer equipment, cell phones, microwave ovens (must be clean), and more. Projection or console TVs are free to drop off, or there is a fee of $15 to be picked up curbside.

Furniture: Free pickup curbside, limit of one item per week. No appointment needed. Sofa beds should have the metal removed, call the Recycling Office for an appointment for the metal pickup.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Picked up curbside on your regular collection day per the posted schedule, typically weekly April 1 to December 15. Residential yard waste shall be defined as organic material such as but not limited to leaves, grass cuttings, shrubbery, brush and branches 6 inches in diameter or less or other material that may be naturally biodegradable. Yard waste must be placed in acceptable biodegradable containers or paper bags. Barrels are acceptable, but must be left uncovered. Branches and brush must be cut in lengths of 3 feet, bundled and tied. Wood must be free of nails, cut to lengths of 3 feet and properly bundled and tied. Limit of 8 bags/barrels/bundles per week. Call the DPW at 233-1440 for details.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Picked up curbside, by appointment, for a fee of $15 each. Residents must pay the $15 fee ahead of time either in person or by mail at/to the Recycling Office. If mailed, checks must be made payable to the “Town of North Providence,” and include the address of pickup, and a phone number. Or drop off by appointment only, free of charge. Call the Recycling Office for an appointment. 

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at DPW. Limit of 5 gallons.

Scrap Metal: Picked up curbside, call the Recycling Office for an appointment. Microwave ovens may be dropped off at the Recycling Office.
