Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station (RHRTS): 163 Rose Hill Road, Wakefield. Mon.-Sat., 7am- 3pm (783-4554). Narragansett residents can utilize the RHRTS by purchasing tags for each bag of trash, up to 33-gallons/35 lbs each, for $1.80 per tag. Tags are sold in sheets of five (5). Recycling is free. More information on the RHRTS can be found on South Kingstown's website.

Appliances (large/white goods): Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $6.15 each. Assessed at $0.06/lb in addition to the commodity charge if commingled in a mixed load.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $18.50 each. Includes: refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc. Assessed at $0.06/lb in addition to the commodity charge if commingled in a mixed load.

Auto Batteries: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $2 each. Assessed at $0.06/lb in addition to the commodity charge if commingled in a mixed load.

Books: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station into the book exchange shed. OR, use the Discover Books donation bin located at 304 Point Judith Road, Narragansett.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station.

Bulky Waste: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $0.06/lb. or $5.00 minimum. Single bulky items weighing 35 pounds or less may be disposed of with a tag.

Carpeting/Rugs: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $0.06/lb. or $5.00 minimum.

Christmas Trees: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station in December and January.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off into the donations boxes around town for Planet Aid, Recycling Associates, St. Vincent DePaul and Goodwill. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State has a donation center at 50 High Street, Wakefield, or go to their website to schedule a pick-up.

Construction & Demolition Debris: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $0.06/lb. or $5.00 minimum.

Cooking Oil: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station.

E-waste: Drop off at Narragansett DPW. Items accepted include televisions, computer monitors, computers, laptops and tablets ONLY. 
NOTE: This is a state electronic waste collection site, which means any RI resident can recycle the above items here.

Extra Recycling: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station.

Furniture: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $0.06/lb. or $5.00 minimum. Single bulky items weighing 35 pounds or less may be disposed of with a tag. 

Leaf & Yard Waste: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $1.25 per Yard Waste Tag. Includes leaves and grass clippings in brown paper yard waste bags. No plastic bags. Yard Waste Tags can be purchased at the Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station or at South Kingstown Town Hall for $1.25. Large brush, bulk quantities of leaves, tree limbs and trunks less than 6” in diameter may be discharged at a rate of $0.035 ($5.00 minimum). No branches over 6” in diameter. No branches longer than 4 feet in length.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station, free of charge, for recyclable units. There is a fee of $60 per unit for non-recyclable units (wet, mangled, excessively dirty, infested with bed bugs).

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station.

Paper for Shredding: Free at yearly town events, usually in conjunction with the yearly Eco-Depot hazardous waste collection event in the spring and during the fall Gansett Days recycling event. Call the Recycling Coordinator for updates.

Propane Tanks: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee. Propane tanks 25 lbs. or less are $5.00; 25 - 100 lbs. are $20.00. Assessed at $0.06/lb in addition to the commodity charge if commingled in a mixed load.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee of $0.06/lb. or $5.00 minimum.

Tires: Drop off at the Rose Hill Regional Transfer Station for a fee: $7 (up to 18" diameter, no rim), $13.00 (>19" diameter, no rim), $9.25 (car tires on rim). Assessed at $0.06/lb in addition to the commodity charge if commingled in a mixed load.
