Asphalt, Brick, Concrete: These items are not handled, but residents may contact the following construction companies, which may take these materials for free: Mello (401-847-3377) or Peckham Brothers (401-846-0274).

Books: Donate to the Middletown Public Library at 700 West Main Rd, Middletown.

Cardboard: If flattened cardboard doesn't fit inside of the recycling cart, place 3'x3' sections next to your recycling cart.

Christmas Trees: For PAYT users, Christmas trees are collected during one week in January. Be sure to leave a trash or recycling cart with the user fee sticker on the curb (this helps the driver of the yard waste truck identify residents using the PAYT program).

Clothing/Textiles: Donate to the organizations that serve Middletown, or visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI donation center at 1341 West Main Rd. (in Airport Plaza).

E-waste: For PAYT users, free at most yearly town events, usually in conjunction with the bulk waste amnesty days by appointment. Visit the town's website for more info. 

Extra Recycling: Contact the DPW/Recycling office to obtain an extra recycling cart. Cardboard can be placed out with your recycling for curbside collection. Please break boxes down flat and tie with twine or tape in 3’x3’ bundles and place next to collection bins.

Furniture: Donate to the organizations that serve Middletown, or visit the following donation centers: Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI at 1341 West Main Rd. (in Airport Plaza). Leaf & Yard Waste: For PAYT users, yard waste collected 23 weeks during the year on your regular collection day (schedule on the website). Yard waste must be placed in containers marked ‘Yard Waste’ or in paper compost bags. Branches must be tied in bundles, no longer than 4 ft. Containers/bags/bundles should weigh no more than 50 lbs each. Yard waste placed in refuse or recycling carts will not be collected. All yard waste materials will be composted, so please NO plastic bags and DO NOT place any trash in with your yard waste. Yard waste stickers are now available at the DPW/Recycling office. Be sure to leave a trash or recycling cart with the user fee sticker on the curb (this helps the driver of the yard waste truck identify residents using the PAYT program).

Mattresses & Box Springs: For PAYT users, items are picked up on the curb (fees apply) on the first and third Tuesdays of the month OR at quarterly bulky waste amnesty days by appointment. Visit the website for more info.

Motor Oil & Filters: Recycle at NAPA Auto Parts (15 Valley Rd.) or Advanced Auto Parts (957 West Main Rd.)
