Transfer Station: 121 Chestnut Hill Road, Chepachet. Hours: Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri: 9am - 5pm. Sat & Sun: 8am to 4pm. Closed on Mondays. Closed during snow or ice conditions. Phone: 401-568-1130. Residential stickers are required and are available at the DPW.

Antifreeze: Drop off at the Transfer Station.

Appliances (large/white goods): Drop off at the Transfer Station into the metal container.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Drop off at the​ Transfer Station.

Auto Batteries: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station.

Books and Media: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station into the Discover Books bin, including books and commercially recorded media such as CDs, DVDs, records and books on CD.

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. A full list of acceptable rigid plastic items: click here.

Bulky Waste: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Couches must be cut in half.

Carpeting/Rugs: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Must be rolled & tied.

Christmas Trees: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station during the month of January.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station into the Upcycle Collaborative (Kiducation) box.

E-waste: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Items accepted are: computers, laptops, servers, routers, and peripherals such as mice, keyboards, speakers, and microphones. TVs, monitors and flat screens. TVs must be whole and intact. NO broken or exposed TV tubes are accepted as this is considered hazardous waste. Hard drives, optical drives, motherboards, daughter boards, ram, CD ROMs, etc. Printers, fax machines, typewriters, scanners, toner cartridges, cameras, calculators, and small medical equipment. Cell phones (including battery), cordless phones, PDA's, iPods, tablets, and chargers. Audio/visual equipment, stereos, CD/DVD players, console gaming systems, cassette players, remote controls.

Extra Recycling: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station.

Fluorescent Bulbs: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station, into the cartons within container behind Solid Waste container. 

Furniture: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Couches must be cut in half. 

Leaf & Yard Waste: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Yard waste includes leaves and pine needles, grass clippings, and Christmas trees. NO BRUSH. 

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Mattresses and box springs that are not recyclable will have a $50.00 Disposal Fee (Effective October 11, 2016). See the Attendant for Inspection.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. No other fluids accepted.

Paint: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. See the Attendant.

Propane Tanks: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. Place NEXT to the Metal Recycling Container, DO NOT PLACE IN CONTAINER.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station. All scrap metal, non-freon containing appliances; washers, dryers, stoves. No gas tanks, fence, wire or cable of any kind.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord. If it's made primarily out of metal, it can be dropped off with scrap metal. If made primarily out of non-metal parts, it can be dropped off with e-waste.

Tires: Drop off at the​ Transfer Station for a fee of $5 each for automotive tires, $10 each for truck tires and $75 each for off road tires. Payment in the form of cash or check, made payable to "The Town of Glocester" (effective October 11, 2016).
