Transfer Station:
Crompton Ave. (next to boat ramp). Hours: Saturday 8-4. Must have a resident permit to enter, by obtaining from the DPW, free of charge. Must bring registration as proof of residency. Full guidelines here.

Department of Public Works (DPW): 111 Peirce Street, East Greenwich. Hours M-F 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Appliances (large/white goods): Free pickup curbside, on a monthly basis, by calling the DPW for an appointment. OR drop off at the Transfer Station.

Appliances (w/ Freon): Free pickup curbside, on a monthly basis, by calling the DPW for an appointment.

Bulky Waste: Free pickup curbside for bulky items, limit one item per week. Place next to trash barrel OR drop off at the Transfer Station.

Carpeting/Rugs: Free pickup curbside for bulky items, limit one item per week. Place next to trash barrel OR drop off at the Transfer Station.

Christmas Trees: Place curbside on your regular collection day during the scheduled week of January (see Solid Waste/Recycling Calendar on the DPW's website for the schedule), or drop off at the Transfer Station.

Clothing/Textiles: See the list of donation boxes on the DPW's website.

Construction & Demolition Debris: Drop off at the Transfer Station.

E-waste: Free recycling at yearly town events, call DPW for details. Includes TVs, monitors, computers, electronics such as DVD players, printers, and electric items (typically anything with a plug).

Extra Recycling: Drop off at the Transfer Station.

Furniture: Free pickup curbside for bulky items, limit one item per week. Place next to trash barrel OR drop off at the Transfer Station.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Place curbside in paper yard waste bags on your regular collection day during April, May, October, November, and every other week June-September (for exact schedule, see Solid Waste/Recycling Calendar on the DPW's website). OR drop off at the Transfer Station.

Mattresses & Box Springs: Drop off at Transfer Station. OR free pickup curbside once per month- call the DPW for an appointment.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Transfer Station.

Scrap Metal: Free pickup curbside for bulky items, limit one item per week. Place next to trash barrel. OR drop off at the Transfer Station. Items like lawn mowers must have the fluids drained.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal
