Kent St. Garage: 37 Blackstone St. (at the corner of Kent St.), Cumberland. Hours: Mon.-Fri., 8-2. Town residents must check in with the attendant in the office.

Appliances (large/white goods): Free curbside pickup on Mondays, must make an appointment by calling MTG Disposal @ 866-420-6342 to schedule a pick-up.

Books: Drop off at Cumberland Public Library (1464 Diamond Hill Rd.) for donation and Ashton School (130 Scott Rd.)

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Kent St. Garage.

Bulky Waste:  One item per week is allowed for free. This item must be allowed in the trash collection, as it does not include hazardous waste, construction debris (such as toilets) or mattresses.

Cardboard: If flattened cardboard doesn't fit inside of the recycling cart, lay it across the top of your recycling cart, tucked under the lid, 

Carpeting/Rugs:  Will be accepted as your one bulky item for the week. Carpeting should be rolled and bundled in 3 foot lengths. Wall to wall carpeting and padding are accepted, with a limit of  8-10 bundles per week.

Christmas Trees: Drop-off only. Real trees and wreaths free of tinsel, ornaments, wire or bags can be brought to Tucker Field (2600 Mendon Rd.), Kent St. Garage or Northern Garage (66 Nate Whipple Hwy.) during the month of January for composting. Trees are not collected curbside and will not be put in the trash.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off in Kiducation or Goodwill donation bins at Town Hall, Ashton School (130 Scott Rd.), Cumberland High School (2600 Mendon Rd.), McCourt Middle School (45 Highland Ave.) and Maria Red Star Upholstery (4012 Mendon Rd.), North Cumberland Middle School (400 Nate Whipple Hwy.).

Furniture:  One item per week is allowed. This item must be allowed in the trash collection, as it does not include hazardous waste, construction debris or mattresses.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Picked up curbside on your regular collection day, weekly from mid-April through mid-June, (new in 2017!) every other week from July 31 through mid-October, and weekly from mid-October through mid-December. Quantity is not limited but all yard waste must be placed in biodegradable paper yard waste bags Yard waste in barrels is not accepted. Small twigs or branches can be collected if under 3 feet in length and bundled. OR drop off seasonally at the Kent St. Garage.

Mattresses & Box Springs:  When purchasing a new mattress, have the old one removed. OR Ace Mattress picks up mattresses curbside pick-up on Monday for a fee of $20 per piece. Call Ace directly @ 401-615-9619 to schedule. OR Drop off at Ace Mattress Recycling in West Warwick during their business hours, free of charge (and get paid $2). Call 401-615-9619 to schedule a drop-off time. PLEASE NOTE: for health reasons, Ace Mattress requires that all mattresses be dry, free of bodily fluids, and bed bugs.  If not, residents will be required to have the item wrapped in large plastic bags offered by Ace at an additional charge of $7.50 per bag. Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Kent St. Garage.

Tires:  Drop off at a local Town Fair Tire locations, fees apply. Call business directly to confirm participation.
