Kent St. Garage: 37 Blackstone St. (at the corner of Kent St.), Cumberland. Hours: Mon.-Fri., 8-2. Town residents must check in with the attendant in the office.

Appliances (large/white goods): Free curbside pickup on Mondays, must make an appointment by calling MTG Disposal @ 866-420-6342 to schedule a pick-up.

Books: Drop off at Cumberland Public Library (1464 Diamond Hill Rd.) for donation and Ashton School (130 Scott Rd.)

Bulky Rigid Plastic: Drop off at the Pascale Highway Facility.

Bulky Waste: Picked up every Tuesday by scheduling an appointment by calling the Recycling Office by noon on Thursday. Up to two bulky waste items per week are allowed, free of charge. Items must be allowed in the trash collection, as it does not include hazardous waste, construction debris (such as toilets) or mattresses.

Carpeting/Rugs: Picked up every Tuesday by scheduling an appointment by calling the Recycling Office by noon on Thursday. Rugs, wall-to-wall carpeting and padding should be rolled and bundled in 3 foot lengths; 8-10 bundles count as one bulky waste item. Up to two bulky waste items per week are allowed, free of charge.

Christmas Trees: Drop off only during the month of January. Real trees and wreaths free of tinsel, ornaments, wire or bags can be dropped off for composting to Tucker Field (2600 Mendon Rd.), Pascale Highway Facility Monday-Friday from 8am-2pm, or Northern Garage (66 Nate Whipple Hwy.). Trees are not collected curbside and will not be accepted as trash.

Clothing/Textiles: Drop off in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Clothing of RI boxes located at: 1380 Diamond Hill Rd. across from The Safety Complex, Bank of America (2061 Diamond Hill Rd.) and Diamond Hill State Park (4125 Diamond Hill Rd.)

Furniture: Picked up every Tuesday by scheduling an appointment by calling the Recycling Office by noon on Thursday. Up to two bulky waste items per week are allowed, free of charge. Items must be allowed in the trash collection, as it does not include hazardous waste, construction debris (such as toilets) or mattresses.

Leaf & Yard Waste: Picked up curbside on your regular collection day, weekly from mid-April through mid-June, every other week from July 31 through mid-October, and weekly from mid-October through mid-December. Quantity is not limited but all yard waste must be placed in biodegradable paper yard waste bags. Yard waste is also collected in open containers, which will be emptied and returned. Small twigs or branches can be collected if under 3 feet in length and bundled. Or, drop off at the Pascale Highway Facility Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm.

Mattresses & Box Springs: When purchasing a new mattress, have the old one removed. OR Diana’s BP Express picks up mattresses curbside by appointment, starting at $25 per piece, by calling 401-400-1658 or emailing dianamproto@gmail.com. Visit the Town's website for complete details.

Motor Oil & Filters: Drop off at the Kent St. Garage.

Scrap Metal: Drop off at the Pascale Highway Facility.

Small Appliances (no Freon): Typically electric items with a cord, if made primarily out of metal, can be dropped off with scrap metal

Tires: Drop off at a local Town Fair Tire locations, fees apply. Call business directly to confirm participation.
