These are sometimes treated to be waterproof (making them not recyclable). Check by getting them wet. If water just beads off, they go in the trash. If it does not bead off, then:

Recycle in Your Bin or Cart

All paperboard must be flattened and loose (not bundled). Though these are made of recyclable paper, some may be too small to be accurately captured and recycled through our current sorting process. It is best to place paper pieces that are smaller than a 3” x 5” index card in the trash.

This item follows the basic rule for fiber recycling in your bin/cart (it’s paper, cardboard, or a carton). Paper and cardboard must be flat. Cartons must be empty at a minimum, but rinsed whenever possible. Plastic caps (on cartons) can go back onto their plastic spouts.
