Trash:
The RI Department of Health (RI DOH) and the RI Department of Environmental Management (RI DEM) puts forth these guidelines for disposal in the trash:

  1. Take medication out of its original containers. Conceal or remove any personal information from containers and recycle them.
  2. Mix the meds with an undesirable substance, such as cat litter.
  3. Put this mixture into a container with a lid, or into a sealable bag.
  4. Place the sealed container/bag in the trash.
