Remove the plastic lid from the hybrid container and place the lid in the trash.

A plastic lid can only be recycled if it was once attached to a plastic container AND it can be refastened prior to placing the container in the recycling, as a lid is not a plastic container on it's own. When it comes to plastic, only containers ≤ 5 gallons are eligible for your mixed recycling.
